Producer, screenwriter and one of the first Writers’ Factory screenwriting tutors in Scotland, Nigel has delivered the 22-week Introduction to Screenwriting, Intro Xpress and Intermediate courses in Edinburgh since 2004, with courses currently hosted by Edinburgh Skillset Screen & Media Academy. He’ll also deliver the first Edinburgh run of the Feature Film Course in October 2010.

 Nigel has produced several multi-award-winning short films, including BBC Scotland/Scottish Screen Tartan Short ‘Cry For Bobo’ and ‘The Return Of Peg Leg Pete’ for US studio division Fox Searchlight.  He produced and script edited sci-fi sitcom series ‘Intergalactic Kitchen’ for Children’s BBC1, the show going on to receive BBC Prime transmission across Europe. He is working on a number of feature film projects, and has a sci-fi television series, MIND, currently in development for Fremantle Media.

Trained at the Media Business School and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in Los Angeles, Nigel has worked as both Development Executive and Script Reader with Scottish Screen, and currently lectures on the Screenwriting Masters programme at Edinburgh Skillset Screen & Media Academy.

 Although based in Scotland, Nigel is open to delivering Xpress versions of the Introduction to Screenwriting course elsewhere in the UK – or even further afield.
