Mark Grindle has over 200 hours of commercial Film and Television credits to his name as Screenwriter, Script Editor, Producer and Executive Producer. He wrote the screenplay for the film The Princess Stallion which sells in over 14 territories worldwide. Mark was awarded the first David Jacob’s Scholarship to USA and trained at UCLA’s Graduate Screenwriting Programme, Columbia Pictures and on the internationally renowned TV series, Northern Exposure. He has since honoured the same scholarship by training screenwriters for Film, TV and Computer Games in Scotland. As the first Writers’ Factory coordinator Mark worked with Scottish Screen, Scottish Arts Council, Phi Parker and UK Film Council, to set up and establish the first seven 22 week Introduction to Screenwriting courses across Scotland. He then set up and established MA Screenwriting at Screen Academy – which he ran for the first two years securing Skillset accreditation – and last year, an MA in Interactive Entertainment which focuses on Writing for Games and Interactive Media. Mark has been running The Gameplay: Writing for Games course since 2003 and has been Writing Mentor to Dare to be Digital, the Games industry’s Gold Standard Prototyping course since 2002.
